Range of use of EAF overprints

I read somewhere that the East Africa(n) Forces were active over a huge area in east Africa, and even had postings in Ceylon. Were the "EAF" overprints used anywhere other than Somalia?

In a word - no. The HQ of the East African Forces was in Nairobi and covered British, Indian, South African, KUT and other native forces being deployed in the area e.g. the reoccupation of Ethiopia. Its quite a complicated topic and I haven't unpacked my ref. books yet. (To add to the confusion you can find covers from Somalia with KUT stamps during the early British occupation period when the territory was actually under HQ Middle East Forces (Cairo) control.Hence the initial use of MEF stamps.)
